BOARD OF EDUCATION

WESTSIDE, IOWA

Special Public Meeting             May 18, 2009

        The meeting was called to order at 6:00 PM.  Lanice Kock, Tony Greve, Todd Danner and Charles Ertz answered roll call.  Jessica Lesko had previously informed the board that she would be unable to attend.   

        Manning Superintendent Roger Schmiedeskamp gave the audience an overview of the differences between partial-day and whole-grade sharing from his perspective over the past few years as Manning and IKM have moved from one to the other.  The board then displayed a tentative five-year plan along with long-range planning ideas for Ar-We-Va’s future.  President Kock reiterated that these were ideas only, and asked for input from those in attendance.  Several questions and concerns were discussed and Kock added that anyone with any other ideas or concerns should contact a board member or Supt. Brosamle.

        Motion Danner, second Ertz to adjourn.  All ayes; motion carried.  The meeting adjourned at 6:50 PM.
